weather and work

the weather is getting me down. I can't get motivated with my work at all at the moment which is odd for me so I'm blaming the weather-soon it'll be this stuff,

which is fine as long as we get loads and it lies but it won't cos we're in the UK and snow is seriously pathetic here :0(

Give me clearly defined seasons please!!!

All we're getting is rain, cold, wind and grey... very disappointing to wake up to each day.

Boo hoo.

blogging

Someone said on facebook this week "does anyone even look at blogs anymore?" Well I do. I check my follow blogs every day. It does seem funny though when you've got a few followers that you only get a very small amount of actual comments.

If I follow a blog it's cos I actually want to see what they are posting and I do make comments when I feel it's warranted. 

So I'd say, if you have looked at someone's work it's nice to leave a comment, however small it is. It's always encouraging to know that people out there are actually taking notice and you're not just posting to thin air :0)

Oh and thanks so much to all my lovely followers-nearly getting to the 100 stage! Woopee!

So sorry not been posting for a while. Been real busy but some of the work has come to a close-at last! I cannot believe how long some of my jobs have been dragging on for and I can't show any work for any of it!
So here is a little orange for you :0)

I decided to do a quick change to my blog header. The summery tree just wasn't doing it any more sadly...the weather is not allowing it! so here are some happy cupcakes instead :0)

hair

I hate my hair-there I've said it.
 I coloured it last week at the hairdressers to the tune of £80 and I hate it. Why oh why did I think it was good idea to go darker-I look ill! I can't even post a pic of myself cos I hate it so much so instead here is a little pic of a monster I did a while back.
I think I'll start wearing my hat til I save up to get my hair done again.

I have had some promising work news today but can't say more at the mo'.
Have so much work on right now but fortunately most of it means I can go at a nice pace-no stress!
I have 2 kids puzzles, 3 kids books, brand character designs, website banners and a primary school website jobs on the go. Also 2 pending toy designs just waiting to get going again.
So happy days!

Hi people.

I am still so very busy with work and having no time to do any self promo work other than this little scribble of a mushroom. Sorry I can't show any of the work I'm on at the mo'-hopefully soon!

I'm doing 2 toy designs, 2 kids puzzles, 2 kids books, several illustrations for a scottish website (buildings and landscape), a card design, a school website design and a pending job for 3 kids books going up to 6.

It's fab to be busy!!! :0))

XTC No Thugs in Our House

in light of all the riots going on in England I've been hearing this tune in my head by XTC. It's so poignant and yet was on an album that appeared in 1982 (English settlement). The lyrics of the song say it all. I am filled with disgust and dismay at the youths perpetrating these crimes. I hope some discipline and calm will resume soon and that the people affected will again feel safe.

Hi! I'm back and work work work!!

Hi everyone-hope you've all been good while I've been away enjoying myself in Turkey-sunning, scuba diving, speed boating, parasailing and seeing the lovely Loggerhead turtles! Was bliss!

While away a very kind client sent me a copy of this card I did work for a few years back. This is the 1st time I've seen it!

Always nice to see how your work is used in the end.

I've also come back to some happy news! I'll be doing more Nick Jr work in august :0)

I've got quite a lot on right now-still on kids books and quite a few illustrations for a website to start.

Not long to go!!!!

We'll I'm still here this week but really not long to go now til we head off to sun!! Things are really hotting up for the day we arrive 34 oC!!! These pics are the actual place we are off to :0)

I have just sent off artwork for a job this morning so hoping to get an invoice in later today-1 less job to do!

If I'm lucky I might just get a couple of books I've been working on signed off and ready for invoicing before end of week as well.

Fudge and Toffee packaging

this is a gift tin I did work on in nov 2010 for "Gardiners of Scotland".

I did the little illustrations which also appear on the sides of the tin :0)

Not my usual style of work but was quite nice to work on. Done in Photoshop

10 canine commandments.

I am a sucker for anything related to animals and I found this online and it made me cry.

I love my dog very much and sometimes it hard to take knowing he'll only be here for a few more short years. Not very happy thoughts I know but I do really like this poster and the thoughts behind it cos it's so true.

Just thought I'd share it with you and all you dog and animal lovers out there :0))

Well I wish I could do this but sadly,as usual, we are having pants weather here in Scotland.

I cannot believe this is the summer....it's like autumn. Cold, wet and windy and throughly depressing.

However on the good side I will be taking a 2 week holiday very soon-hurray and I WILL BE IN THE SUN-HEAVEN! Turkey here I come....aaaaah.

I am on a mission to get as much work done as possible before I go of course. As always there seems to be a hundred and one things needing done and to be remembered.
